Shopping update!

Oh my gosh it’s been almost 3 months since I’ve posted anything where has time gone!  It has definitely been a CRAZY few months.   So here I am in January starting to plan how I’m going to save money again, after majorly overspending for Christmas and our vacation over New Years.  Last week I did a major stockpile shopping at my local Woodman’s store again (spent 492.97 after coupons of $39.75, and yes I forgot a few oops), I got some great deals including meat, vitamins and many other items, I’m pretty well stocked for the next 2 months and only should need to replace items that are perishable.  I ended up going back this week and got a few more things, spent more than planned but I should be good now and I couldn’t resist another pkg of ground beef. I also hit the Piggly Wiggly meat sale and got some much needed meat for my carnivores, plus hit CVS for chips, cereal, beer and coke deal 2 weeks ago, Got a $10 cash card then too and I got some at walmart totaling $158.87.  I also went to CVS yesterday as well.

Therefore, I will start this month with my shopping trips from yesterday!  Though I don’t have any pics to go with as I didn’t even think about that L

This weeks shopping:

Woodman’s spent $74.85
-          Paper - Ziploc bags, aluminum foil, disposable casserole pans (for freezer cooking!)
-          Meat - 6 lbs ground beef, 1 pk johnsville sausage links, Bacon pieces, pepperoni sticks, pkg of ready to eat sausage sticks, 1 pkg. of pepperoni slices (another freezer meal)
-          Various fruits/ veggies (berries, peppers, bananas, etc)
-          Misc. - Huggies diaper wipes, 18 eggs, lg. Crisco (for deep fryer)
-          Breads - Bread, bread crumbs and dinner rolls
CVS - $10 cash card deal
-          6 12 pk of coke
-          1 12 pk of Fanta
-          1 12 pk of Sprite
-          1 gallon milk
-          2 6 pk vitamin waters
= 32.98 - $10 cash card = $22.98 oop which isn’t bad for 8 pks of soda, 2 pks of vitamin water and milk!  I now have a $10 cash card and $6 in ECBs (I forgot them at home).

Walmart

Halo Mega Blocks set – clearance to $11.00 (regularly $22.97)
Lego Ninjago motorcycle lego set – clearance to $8 (regularly $19.97)
Taken 2 (movie) $19.97
Canned cat food -  .45 ea
Total: $48.00
-Used $40 in Walmart cards from Swagbucks.
OOP -  $8.00

These toy sets were given to my grandmother to give as birthday gifts to my boys in the coming months.  This is the best way to go for her budget as she is very limited on income and loves when I can find these clearance deals on items I know they’ll like!
Total groceries out of pocket for January =   $898.50  YIKES!  Yes that’s A LOT and the bulk shopping was taken from our special savings account.  BUT this will last us for atleast 2 months and includes HBA, household, medicine and food for 5 people breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.  The only thing not figured into this cost was pet needs, cat food, dog food, cat litter etc..  I’m sure I’ve missed somethings that were grocery related at other stores, but I plan to do a month end recap of everything and then compare to Feb, which should be drastically lower.   Can’t wait to see how Jan/Feb compare to each other!
